Prelude Edition 2025

From March 16th to March 18th at the Teatre La Biblioteca, Barcelona.

While we prepare for the premiere of the Shakespeare Festival Barcelona in 2027, we wanted to celebrate the Prelude Edition as a way to start bonding, building connections, testing formats, and bringing artists and audiences together. We aim to begin building the Festival's community and bring closer the vision we are working towards. It will consist of three days of theatrical programming and parallel activities around the theater of William Shakespeare, to reflect on Festivals in Europe, Shakespeare in Catalonia, Catalan theater abroad, and cultural policies that push us further… Three days to imagine together the festival we are building.

The Prelude Edition will take place from Sunday, March 16th to Tuesday, March 18th, with the main venue being the Teatre La Biblioteca, where the new Macbeth by La Perla 29 will be performed, directed by Oriol Broggi with live original music by the London trio The Tiger Lillies.
